UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - A deputy sheriff in Prince George's County is accused of sexually assaulting a female inmate inside the county courthouse.
Police say a 34-year-old inmate on Tuesday reported being assaulted while awaiting trial at the courthouse in Upper Marlboro.
Police say Deputy Sheriff Lamar McIntyre admitted his involvement and has been charged with second-degree rape.
McIntyre could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon and it was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer. A phone message was left for the county sheriff.
