ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- As the April 17 tax filing deadline approaches, comptroller Peter Franchot is offering free tax assistance through his agency.
Marylanders can bring their W2 and 1099 forms to the comptroller's local offices Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for help.
The comptroller's 12 offices will also be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to offer free assistance with tax return preparation.
Local offices can be found in Annapolis, Baltimore, Cumberland, Elkton, Frederick, Hagerstown, New Carrollton/Landover, Salisbury, Towson, Upper Marlboro, Waldorf and Wheaton. Click here for a list of locations closest to you.
