AAA projects increased travel in Md. for July 4th

BALTIMORE (AP) -
AAA says more Marylanders are expected to travel away from home next week for the July 4th holiday.
The projection for a 5.3 percent increase in travel over last year would be the highest volume of travel by Maryland residents in more than a decade.
AAA says declining gas prices and a mid-week holiday seems to be giving travelers an excuse to take extra vacation days for holiday travel. The auto club is projecting 846,000 Marylanders will travel at least 50 miles or more from home for the holiday next week.
This would be the third consecutive year of travel growth after declines in 2008 and 2009.
