The release of the newest version of Apple’s iPhone is likely to come within the next two weeks, according to a report from the tech publication All Things Digital .
Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook is scheduled to hold its next big media event on Tuesday, Oct. 4, where he will unveil the new generation iPhone, the report says.
The new phone—expected to be called the iPhone5—would likely hit stores within a few weeks of the big unveiling.
Rumors have circulated for months that the new generation iPhone would come sometime in October and likely be available for mobile providers AT&T, Verizon and Sprint .
So what features will the new iPhone have?
As always, Apple has been tight lipped about the specifics of the product, but the rumors have included everything from improving the camera, eliminating the home button, increasing screen size, adding a keyboard, improving battery life, allowing full HD recording and adding a 3D display. Which of these rumors will stick is hard to say.
The product release would be the first for the newly appointed Cook, who took over for Apple’s iconic CEO Steve Jobs in August.
