Tonight, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin is scheduled to attend a prayer vigil in honor of Trayvon Martin.
The vigil will be hosted by the African-American Coalition of Howard County and will take place at St. John Baptist Church at 7:00 pm.
The event will underscore the need to pass the act to end racial profiling. Ben Cardin introduced the act in October.
17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by a neighborhood watchman in Florida in February.
