Roads to avoid in Howard County

COLUMBIA, Md. -
Howard County Police are reporting that the following roads are closed (as of 10:40 a.m.) because of flooding:
- 565 RIVER ROAD
- WEST FRIENDSHIP ROAD
- HARRIET TUBMAN at CEDAR/CARAVAN COURT
- OLD COLUMBIA at ROCK CREEK
- HIPSLEY MILL at MONTGOMERY COUNTY LINE
- RIVER and LEVERING at VIADUCT at RR
- RIVER between ROCKBURN and LAWYERS HILL
- OLD FREDERICK ROAD at OAK FOREST
- MAIN STREET/BALTIMORE COUNTY LINE
- MARYLAND AVENUE and MAIN STREET
- ST. PAUL and NEW CUT at MARYLAND AVENUE
The following roads are closed becuase of a dam release:
- MINK HOLLOW at MONTGOMERY COUNTY LINE
- HAVILAND MILL at MONTGOMERY COUNTY LINE
The Howard County Office of Emergency Management is also monitoring the Patapsco River and Brigthen Dam, and Rockey Gorge for rising water.
