Roads to avoid in Howard County

COLUMBIA, Md. -  

Howard County Police are reporting that the following roads are closed (as of 10:40 a.m.) because of flooding:
  • 565 RIVER ROAD 
  • WEST FRIENDSHIP ROAD
  • HARRIET TUBMAN at CEDAR/CARAVAN COURT
  • OLD COLUMBIA at ROCK CREEK
  •  HIPSLEY MILL at MONTGOMERY COUNTY LINE
  • RIVER and LEVERING at VIADUCT at RR
  • RIVER between ROCKBURN and LAWYERS HILL
  • OLD FREDERICK ROAD at OAK FOREST
  • MAIN STREET/BALTIMORE COUNTY LINE
  • MARYLAND AVENUE and MAIN STREET
  • ST. PAUL and NEW CUT at MARYLAND AVENUE
The following roads are closed becuase of a dam release:
 
  •  MINK HOLLOW at MONTGOMERY COUNTY LINE
  • HAVILAND MILL at MONTGOMERY COUNTY LINE
 
The Howard County Office of Emergency Management is also monitoring the Patapsco River and Brigthen Dam, and Rockey Gorge for rising water.
