ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WMAR) - Howard County Fire and Rescue Services received call of a house fire in Ellicott City Sunday morning.
Once crews arrived to the home in the 5100 block of Britton Lane, they found smoke coming from an attached garage and had to use saws to cut open the garage door.
Firefighters were able to remove the door and quickly extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading.
Howard County Fire officials report that there were no injuries.
Fire investigators were able to determine that the cause of the fire was due to improper disposal oily rags.
Damage is estimated to be around $13,000.00.
