Fire rips through school classroom

Fire crews with the Howard County Fire Department responded to a fire in a portable classroom and Glenelg Country School Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say they believe the fire began just before 1:45 p.m. The fire was brought under control just after 2 p.m.

The school was closed Wednesday, so there was no risk to students or teachers. Officials say there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
