JOPPA, Md. -
A twenty-one-year-old woman is in the hospital after she slammed a jeep into a telephone pole Friday night.
Authorities said 25 volunteer firefighters and paramedics were called to Philadelphia Road and Joppa Farm Road in Harford County for a report of a crash around 10 p.m. As soon as emergency workers arrived at the scene they stabilized the car—which had snapped a telephone pole—and removed the woman from the vehicle. She was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Trauma Center in serious, but stable condition.
Philadelphia Road was closed between Bulls Lane and Joppa Farm Road, but has reopened.
Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
