BEL AIR, Md. - Students at South Hampton middle school in Bel Air are shooting hoops to help raise money for heart disease.

It's part of the Hoops for Heart program. Students are raising money for the American Heart Association. They have been raising money for a month.

Last week the school held a student faculty basketball tournament for 8th graders. Tuesday was the final day to raise money with a three point shootout for prizes and trophies.

Students set a goal to raise 12-thousand dollars. They surpassed the goal by raising 16-thousand dollars.
