DARLINGTON, Md. (WMAR) - Former Superintendent of the Maryland State Police and current Baltimore radio talk show host, Ed Norris, was injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident.
According to a preliminary investigation by Maryland State Police, a GMC truck owned by Ward Trucking was making a left turn from MD 161 to travel southbound on US Route 1. At that location on US Rt. 1 approaching the intersection of MD 161 was a 2013 Victory motorcycle driven by Edward Thomas Norris of Hampstead, MD.
The GMS truck failed to yield the right of way to the Victory motorcycle. In order to avoid collision, Norris swerved and put the motorcycle on the ground entering into a skid.
Because of this action, Norris sustained injuries during the crash that were not deemed life-threatening. As a precaustion, Norris was flown to Maryland Shock Truama.
The driver of the GMC truck, Dedrick Jamal McClain of Windsor Mill, MD was at fault for the collision and charged with “failing to yield right of way to another vehicle,” by Maryland State Police.
