CHURCHVILLE, Md. - Over 10 Maryland fire companies and reinforcements from nearby Pennsylvania stations were called in to fight a raging fire Sunday night.
Calls started coming in to Harford County 911 about a fire in an abandoned home in the 3500 block of McCommons Road in Churchville around 11:30 p.m. Fire companies in Level and Darlington responded and quickly asked for additional resources due to the severity of the fire and a lack of fire hydrants.
In the end, crews from Havre de Grace, Aberdeen, Port Deposit, Perryville, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen Station, Joppa-Magnolia and Abingdon were called in to fight the blaze. Two fire companies from Pennsylvania assisted.
The fire was brought under control just before 3:00 a.m. No one was injured.
The State Fire Marshall's office is investigating the cause.
