FALLSTON, Md. -

A single car crash in Fallston sent a man to the hospital Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.

Twenty-six members of the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to Stratford Road near Mountain Road for a reported crash with a person trapped. When  emergency crews arrived they found a pickup truck smashed into a tree, but the driver was not stuck in the vehicle.

The male driver was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Trauma Center in serious but stable condition.

Maryland State Police officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
