BEL AIR, Md. - It may be winter, but you just get a warm feeling when you come into Flavor Cupcakery in Bel Air.

"If people are splurging, whether for an event or just for a treat for that day, it should be worth it," said owner Shelley Stannard.

And all that glitters, at least in this shop, is better than gold. Especially today, the first day the bakery is open since the episode of Cupcake Wars aired on Sunday.

"It was nuts, but we had a blast and we won," Stannard said.

"I've done a couple of things like this, but nothing like that! I mean that was so insane, a thousand cupcakes in 2 hours is almost impossible, but we pulled it off," Jason Hisley said. He led the team on Cupcake Wars.

"I've been baking in the kitchen with my aunt and my grandma ever since i was a little kid," he said.

Hisley is a pastry culinarian here at Flavor, and he hopes the victory Sunday helps the shop.

"It was awesome when we won, i know it's going to put Flavor Cupcakery on the map. We're already so engrained in this community here, we're all about Bel Air and just the outer areas of Bel Air. It's just exciting to think of all the new people we can bring in and bring in to this community."

For owner Shelley Stannard this is a great topping to her first year in business.

"We're new, but we're making things happen!"
