People across the regions have reported seeing bears during the last couple of weeks. Are we in a bear boom?
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources believes that the bear seen North of the Conowingo Dam may be the same one spotted in Baltimore County last week.
"Our bear population is growing but these sightings in the urban part of the state aren’t necessarily more than in recent years," said Harry Spiker, Maryland DNR. "These dispersing juveniles are typically spotted in June and early July as they move through in search of suitable habitat."
