Havre de Grace, Md. - With the Preakness Stakes just days away, lots of people in the Baltimore area have horses on their minds.
For some physical therapy patients in Harford County, horses are a vital part of their day to day lives.
At Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding in Havre de Grace, trainers work with clients to help strengthen their physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Cristina Trottapecovic says she's seen the difference in her daughter, Torrey, as she's worked with the horses.

"It's done amazing things for her."
The equine therapy is especially beneficial for clients with limited core strength, because the movements of the horses are so similar to those of humans. Riding the horses provides consistent movement, muscle relaxation and improvement in balance.
Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding relies on donations for a big chunk of its funding.
