A two alarm fire tore through a home in Havre de Grace early Thursday morning, and as firefighters battled flames, they found a deceased person on the second floor.

It happened at 4:30 in the 4,000 block of U Way. Fire investigators say the chief medical examiner will determine the identity and cause of death of the victim.

According to the Harford County Fire Public Information Officer, Rich Gardiner, close to 50 firefighters from Level, Aberdeen, Susquehanna and Cecil County were called to the scene.

Gardiner told ABC2 a rescue team was also called to the home.

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
