BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford County Sheriff's Department is mourning the loss of a second deputy in less than a week, just a day after burying one of their own.

Sergeant. Ira Loughran, 43, a 16-year veteran of the force, died early Thursday of an apparent heart attack. According to the Chief Medical Examiner's office, Loughran began to suffer symptoms at funeral services held Wednesday for Corporal Charles Licato, who died last week in a single-car accident.

Loughran was assigned to the Police Service Bureau at the time of his death. He leaves behind a wife and one child.
