Flames.....and smoke were billowing out of the residence as firefighters arrived at the home on Franklins Choice road around 330 this afternoon. What they found was a smoky mess....and Randy Reinecke knew first hand. The former Fallston fire chief.....and volunteer firefighter....had already been on scene and inside the home.
"We were right at the 711 and I looked up and I saw the smoke."
"I got here just ahead of the one fire truck and the lady
from next door told me there was two kids in there."
"Just instinct told me to grab an axe, bust in the front door and go look for them."
Fortunately there were no children inside, Reinecke say he later learned they had gone outside a back door....but he was still glad he was there.
"Kids whenever you hear that, I've got three of my own, you just unfortunately throw fear to the side, and think of...no except the kids inside the burning house."
