DARLINGTON, Md. -
Firefighters performing a water training exercise on the Susquehanna River had to put their skills to the test to rescue some of their own Sunday afternoon
Four members of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company were hospitalized briefly after their fire boat hit a rock in the Susquehanna River near the Conowingo Dam around 1 p.m. Two crew members were thrown into the river and two were thrown to the deck of the boat on impact.
Fortunately, there were other fire training boats in the area which rescued the overboard trainees.
All four firefighters were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
