EDGEWOOD, Md. - More than 50 firefighters, mostly volunteers from about a half-dozen departments responded to a house fire on Fishermans Lane Monday morning. One of those firefighters was injured.

Officials say calls came “pouring into” the Harford County Emergency Operation 911 Center just before 8 a.m. Crews from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were first to arrive and reported the fire to be at a split-level single family home. Firefighters said large flames were visible from in front of the home, and they immediately requested assistance.

Fire engines from Abingdon, Bel Air, Fallston, Kingsville (Baltimore County) and Aberdeen responded.

Officials say firefighters worked for an hour to bring the blaze under control.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is currently on scene investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

The injured firefighter was transported to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center with injures not believed to be life-threatening.
