Firefighter hurt battling Edgewood blaze

EDGEWOOD, Md. -  

A firefighter was injured battling a blaze in Harford County Saturday

Crews were called to the house fire in the 1700 block of Harbinger Trail in Edgewood just after 8 pm. When firefighters arrived both floors of the two-story home were on fire and there were reports of a person trapped inside. It was later determined that the person was safe at a neighbors house.

An 18-year-old firefighter from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company suffered burns to his upper body and and was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center where he was treated and released. Another firefighter from the Abingdon Fire Company became sick at the scene and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
