FALLSTON, Md. (WMAR) - An 18-year-old girl is dead and two others hurt following an early afternoon crash in Fallston.

Maryland State Police say their investigation so far has revealed that a Saturn, driven by Hanna Mackensie Kriss, 18, of Forest Hill was traveling northbound on Route 152 prior to Old Joppa Road.

The Saturn crossed the double yellow line, sideswiped a Toyota Avalon, driven by Sand Lee Rohe, and continued on the wrong side of the road before hitting a Suburban head-on. The Suburban, carried two people, Dereke Hoch and Michael Burke.

After the collision, the Suburban caught fire and became engulfed in flames.

Both Hoch and Burke were able to free themselves from the Suburban before emergency personnel arrived.

Hoch and Burk were both taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Rohe was not injured.

At this time, police are uncertain what caused Kriss to cross the center line.

The investigation is ongoing.
