BALTIMORE (WMAR) - Stuffed backpack after stuffed backpack -- representatives of Long & Foster Realtors say it was their chance to give back to the community.

Last year, the company donated dozens of backpacks full of back-to-school essentials to the department of social services, but representatives of the company say this year the department is only accepting monetary donations. So, Long & Foster realtor Jennifer Bayne contacted ABC2 News.

For several weeks we have been telling you about the Preston Mitchum, Jr. Foundation (PMJF) . Founded in 2002 by WMAR-TV ABC 2 news journalist Preston Mitchum, Jr., it's a non-profit organization built to motivate individuals to give back to the Baltimore Metropolitan area.

Give back is what those at Long & Foster did. They collected 40 backpacks. And next year, the company hopes they will be able to contribute even more.

"We're talking about trying to get the whole company into it next year," manager Joan Solomon said. "We'd like to spread the word... and have the whole company involved."

Giving back, they said, has been made easy.

" We found you guys, based on your commercial on television, and I emailed last night and you're here today. So, you've been very receptive," Bayne said.
