Bel Air, MD - When you see it from the road and you may think that the

Wegman's market is one of several businesses in the new Box Hill development.

But look again....it' one big store.

A really big store that is hiring now.

One hundred and 50 full time jobs, more than 400 part time jobs...and that's not all.

I don't think that people appreciate how many jobs are generated in the development business"

Jim Martin's company Ward Properties is developing Box Hill.

More is scheduled to be built on the site this year....along with room for expansion two to three years from now.

And even before one person buys a grape from Wegman’s, local jobs have been created.

“Our site contractor is Couma Construction and they employ 40 and 50 people out on the site at any point during the day from grading to utilities and in addition to that they have subcontractors mason's who are doing the brick work retaining wall was a big project there was $800,000 in the retaining wall alone."

Over the past three to four years 57 new companies have relocated and open in Harford County ranging from retail to rocket science.

That has generated more than three thousand jobs.

The new arrivals have also raised the average income of the county from $73,000 to $83,000 a year.

Wegman’s and a new Kohl's online center at the old GAP distribution building will bring in large numbers of unskilled and skilled jobs.

The kind of jobs that stabilize communities.

"It's not a BRAC type of job in addition to the jobs that are coming with BRAC these are different industries they see the vitality of the greater Baltimore region and Harford county in particular and the fact there's a workforce that's here and reach their markets in one case a local market and the other an East Coast distribution market" Harford County Economic Development Director James Richardson says.

Wegman's isn't the only place that will be hiring in the development.

Two restaurants are also planned.

If you're interested in one of the Wegman’s jobs you can go on line at www.wegmans.com and apply now.

But on Monday they're employment center just down Emmorton road from the construction site will open
