Authorities are warning people to stay off the road as Sandy hits the area for reasons just like this.

A car had a mishap ending up in the marsh while traveling on Route 18 in Queen Anne's County. Watch the video to see the car submerged in water almost up to the driver's side window.

Conditions have also gone downhill on Kent's Island. ABC2 News' Cheryl Conner was there and heard it firsthand from the director of emergency services, who said it is not safe. There are two shelters, Kent Island High School and Centerville Middle School.

If you’re looking outside thinking you should have left  when the mandatory evacuations went into place, don’t leave now, as the wind and the rain are just too much at this point.
