Victim ID'ed in Cecil County fatal

NORTH EAST, Md. - The pedestrian who was struck and killed Tuesday afternoon in on Route 272 in Cecil County has been identified as Timothy Church, 49, of North East closing down the roadway for four hours, state police said.


A spokesman at the North East barrack of the Maryland State Police said their investigation into the accident is continuing. There are no other details other than that Church was struck by a passenger vehicle near the intersection of Route 272 and Elk River Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene. All lanes were closed for about four hours while investigators processed the scene.
