WESTMINSTER, Md. (WMAR) - A Westminster police officer has been treated and released from the hospital following a car accident early Saturday morning.
According to Lieutenant Patrick Bassler, spokesperson for the Westminster Police Department, the officer was transporting a person he arrested to the hospital for minor injuries to their knee.
It would be when the officer drove on South Center Street at South Street that a SUV runs a stop sign and slams into the driver's side door, police say.
The officer and man in custody were transported to Carroll Hospital Center with minor injuries.
They have since been released.
