Route 140 closed due to deadly crash

WOOLERYS, Md. (WMAR) - Maryland State Police closed Route 140 for several hours Friday while they investigated the cause of a deadly accident. 

Police say the crash happened on Route 140 eastbound, just west of Sandymount Road and involved 3 vehicles.
 
Police detoured motorists around the crash, onto Bethel Road and back out to Sandymount Road. 
 
Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate routes.
