WESTMINSTER, Md. (WMAR) -

Maryland State Police have identified the skeletal remains that were found in October 2012 along a path in a vacant lot in Westminster.

The man has been identified as Thomas Linhan, 67, of no fixed address. An autopsy revealed no apparent trauma and no evidence of foul play.

Linhan's remains were found as citizens were walking through a vacant lot in the 500 block of Baltimore Boulevard in Westminster. There was no identification located with the remains, however the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner have since been able to identify them.

After an exhausting search through missing persons files and forensic tests, investigators contacted the Carroll Hospital Center and obtained x-rays of a local homeless man. Those x-rays lead to a positive identification of Linhan.

Investigators are still attempting to locate Linhan's next of kin.

Anyone who may have information is asked to call police at 410-386-3000.
