Home made aircraft crashes into field

WESTMINSTER, Md. (WMAR) -  

Carroll County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a crash that involved a home made aircraft. 
 
Deputies responded to an open field in the 700 block of Oak Tree Road in Westminster just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. 
 
The pilot, 58-year-old Amirkhanian Shahram, of Silver Spring was the sole occupant of the home made helicopter. He was found conscious at the scene, with no apparent injuries. 
 
It was reported that the aircraft struck a power line adjacent to the field before striking the ground and coming to rest. It was found that no power outages were reported. 
 
The heavily damaged aircraft was removed to a secure site  for further investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration.
