MIDDLE RIVER, Md. (WMAR) - A woman was struck and killed Saturday night in Middle River on Route 40, police said.

Police responded to Pulaski Highway  (Route 40) and Holly Drive just before 7 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a  car.

When officers arrived, they found that 60-yea-old Dianna Rae Brooks had been hit by a Ford F150 truck. Medics pronounced her dead on the way to Franklin Square Hospital.

The preliminary investigation found that Brooks was standing on eastbound Pulaski Highway when she was hit by the truck. The Ford F150 stayed at the scene.

East-bound Route 40 was shut down between Martin Blvd and Holly Drive for several hours for the crash clean up and investigation.
