Ruppersberger to hand out canes to veterans

TIMONIUM, Md. - Maryland Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger will be handing out folding canes to U.S. military veterans who need help walking.
The event Wednesday at a Sam's Club store in Timonium is part of the "Hugo Salutes Our Veterans" program. Blue Hugo brand canes will be distributed at Sam's Club stores nationwide through Veteran's Day.
The program was launched in 2007 by AMG Medical Inc. Organizers plan to donate their 100,000th cane this year.
Ruppersberger represents Maryland's 2nd District and is the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.
