REISTERSTOWN, Md. -
A fire in Reisterstown on Wednesday has had a lot of impact on our area. On top of leaving the firefighting community on edge, praying for one of their own, a neighborhood is in mourning after the death of a 58-year-old.
Steven Star died in the fire. His neighbors remember him for his sense of humor, love of local sports and music.
Hours after the flames were doused, friends, family and neighbors came together to support Steven’s family and the others who were displaced by the fire.
“Whatever we can do to help,” says neighbor Mark Schuit. “We’re not sure what that is. If that’s financial or emotional support or manual labor. We just wanted to make sure that they knew that they were taken care of in this community.”
The Red Cross was called in to help people as well.
