BALTIMORE - Do you know what to do at a stoplight that isn’t working? The governor and safety officials have told us repeatedly to treat it like a 4-way stop.
Many aren't heeding that advice and it could be a safety concern.
While reporting on a story on the corner of Hillen Road and Stevenson Lane in Towson Wednesday morning, ABC2’s Linda So saw many people drive straight through lights that aren't working.
She even saw a Baltimore County School bus driving through the light. Many cars were even honking at the cars that are stopping at the light, like they’re doing something wrong.
But, it is law in Maryland that you must treat intersections with lights not working like 4-way stops.
When will the traffic lights be working again?
BGE says they have made a lot of progress overnight is restoring power. More than 30,000 customers have been brought back online. Crews are still working to get those without power back as soon as possible.
Once the out-of-state crews brought in to help are done with restoration efforts in the Baltimore area, they’ll likely head up north to New York and New Jersey to help with efforts there.
