PIKESVILLE, Md. (WMAR) - Baltimore County Police shoot a woman in Pikesville during an altercation early Saturday morning.
Police were called to a home in the 3100 block of North Brooke Road around 2:00 a.m. for a suspicious person.
Once officers arrived to the area, they found a woman standing in front of the house. Police say the woman threw a large rock at the house and broke a window as they approached her.
The woman did not stop at shattered glass. Police say she pulled out a handgun.
It would be when when the woman refused to drop the gun that the situation escalated.
An officer shot the woman several times in the upper body.
The woman was transported to a local hospital immediately following the shooting. She remains in serious condition.
Police are withholding identifying information about the woman until her family is properly notified.
