TOWSON, Md. - Baltimore County Police along with Baltimore County Animal Control officers are trying to figure out how a 7-foot-python got loose in Towson.
ABC2 News spoke with dispatchers overnight who confirmed that around 9:30pm Sunday someone called about a python that had gotten loose in the 1300 block of Taylor Avenue.
Officers showed up and spotted the snake under a car. Police called in Baltimore County Animal Control officers who hauled off the reptile.
ABC2 News called Baltimore County Animal Control overnight in an attempt to get a picture of the snake but the office was closed.
Officers think that the snake was some sort of pet that escaped.
According to the Maryland Zoo 's website, pythons are found in west and central Africa. The Maryland Zoo currently has a ball python in The Maryland Zoo’s Animal Embassy collection.
