Officials say man shot was trespassing

PARKTON, Md. (WMAR) - Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with an apparent hunting-related shooting.
Police say the victim, Christopher Kinne, 43, of Lancaster, Pa., was shot in the leg Tuesday morning during the incident. The case is being investigated for possible hunting violations by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
The man police say is responsible, Richard Heyman, 42, has been charged with first and second degree assault. He was released on a $75,000 bond.
Baltimore County Police Department spokesperson Elise Armacost says officers were dispatched at about 9 a.m. to the 300 block of Stablers Church Road in Cockeysville where they found Kinne with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Kinne was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators say Kinne was trespassing on a property owned by an acquaintance of the Heymann.
Heymann and the property owner reportedly confronted Kinne about being on the property, and while the property owner went in to call police, the alleged trespasser was shot.
Property owner Lois Ruhl said she was out and about Tuesday morning when she got the call that someone was hunting on her property.
"It's just been people (investigators) coming and going since then," Ruhl said.
She said the whole incident is a little frightening as you often don't know what to think when you hear someone is on your property.
"You don't know what their intentions are," she said.
Armacost said the investigation is ongoing.
