CATONSVILLE, Md. - A swiftwater rescue crew had to be rescued from swift water in the Catonsville area Wednesday.

The crew became trapped during a rescue operation. Elise Armacost, with the Baltimore County Fire Department, told ABC2 News that one firefighter was pulled to safety after clinging to a tree.

The rescue crews were trying to perform other swift water rescues when the were swept away themselves.

Four firefighters from the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Company Swiftwater Rescue Team and two career firefighters from the Texas Station were all rescued from the water.

Wednesday's heavy rains lead to flooding all over the region.

Swift water rescue crews were called to the Catonsville area for reports of multiple vehicles stuck in high water.
