Mondawmin Mall announced Thursday a plan for redevelopment.
The plan, which will impact about 38,000 square feet of the Liberty Heights mall, will help add at least three new retailers and make way for new construction.
New construction? Yeah, The mall is planning to build a 25,000 square foot home for Ross Dress For Less. The new retailer will set up shop following the demolition of the former MVA building.
Also slated to move in to newly-constructed or re-purposed space is Foot Deal$.
"Mondawmin Mall has been an integral part of the greater Mondawmin community for more than 50 years," said mall general manager Romaine Smallwood-Smoot. "Our goal is to not only provide the best retail center possible, but to also offer service that make the surrounding area a desirable place to live and work."
In 2008, Mondawmin Mall underwent a 225,000 square foot expansion and complete renovation of common areas, restaurants and shops.
