BALTIMORE (WMAR) - "I am in the Sun, I am in the Clouds"...Olivia Calvert can sing. She writes love songs she tells ABC2 News' Jamie Costello.
She's got it, I tell her. Mom says, "She's got it, I say, but she has us."
Olivia started third grade. She loves math and reading and spelling.
This year she is the Ambassador for MDA. That means she gets out and spread the good word about fighting muscle diseases. It has left her in a wheelchair.
Olivia uses an elevator that Dad Joe put in. It takes her from floor to floor.
In her bedroom, while others have globes, and posters and doll babies, Olivia has a cough-a-lator. Its a machine that coughs for her, since she can't on her own. It allows her lungs to be free and clear so she can read a bedtime story to her Mom.
Olivia wants us to look at her, not stare at her, but look at what she has do to every single day of her life.
"I tell you I've seen people change once they meet her", says Dad Joe.
So Olivia will go to school tomorrow and pal around with her great friends, Grace, Lauren and Natalie.
The rest of us will remember her in the chair, singing a beautiful love song.
Olivia Calvert is the Angel of Halethorpe.
