TOWSON, Md. (WMAR) -

Baltimore County Police say speed was a factor in an early morning crash that killed a 26-year-old man.

Police say they responded to the intersection of York Road and Fairmount Avenue for reports of a crash at about 2:00 a.m.

Investigators determined that Erik Pachino was traveling west on Fairmount Avenue in his Jeep Wrangler when he attempted to turn onto York Road, but lost control, struck a curb, a traffic sign and a traffic signal pole.

Pachino was flown to Shock Trauma where he died at about 8:00 a.m. this morning.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.
