Tonight Komen Maryland plans to continue fighting for the cure despite the Planned Parenthood controversy.
Lots of angry comments on social media after Susan G. Komen foundation announced it would no longer fund grant money to Planned Parenthood.
The money was used for breast cancer screenings.
Thousands have made donations to the family planning provider, saying they will no longer support Komen.
Robin Prothro, Executive Director of Komen Maryland says the affiliate here has no ties to Planned Parenthood. Komen Maryland does support 29 other breast cancer programs, 17 which target under or uninsured women.
The Komen mission is about breast cancer. The work that we're doing is still needed and we are going to continue to uphold that work and we are looking forward to our supporters continuing to be with us.
Planned Parenthood advocates say politics have gotten in the way citing a republican led investigation. Komen denies those claims.
