Stan Hunkovic took his fight to get children back....to Capitol Hill today.
The Baltimore county firefighter/paramedic was among a group of parents sharing their personal struggles with international kidnapping before the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Stan's been fighting since last year when he says his wife Leah....took their children....Gabrielle and Anastasia back to her home country, Trinidad.
Republican Congressman Christopher Smith from New Jersey introduced a bill yesterday on behalf of parents whose children have been abducted across the border.
It calls for financial sanctions against countries that don't abide by the laws.
"I just want them to know that Daddy loves them. And them, so very much, and wish they were back home. And, wish I could hold them and take to the park or zoo."
The bill, H-R 11940 would also call for an ambassador-at-large to be appointed to deal specifically with international abduction cases.
The group of parents also sent a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
We'll keep you posted on what happens with the bill.
