REISTERSTOWN, Md. (WMAR) - Baltimore County officials are investigating the cause of a crash that injured several people and closed Hanover Pike for several hours.

Police say the road is closed in both directions near Rue Saint Lo Drive for the crash that happened at about 8:15 a.m. The road re-opened at about 1:30 p.m.

Police say there are vehicles involved, a Transit van, a Scion and a GMC Sierra.  The initial investigation has revealed that the van was traveling north on Hanover Pike when it crossed the center line striking the Sierra and Scion.

One person was flown to Shock Trauma with serious injuries, another was taken to Sinai Trauma and another was taken to Carroll County General Hospital.

At this time it is unknown what caused the van to cross the center line.
