REISTERSTOWN, Md. - We are learning more about the firefighter seriously hurt on the job last week.
Gene Kirchner is in critical but stable condition.
He had an MRI and doctors say he suffered some brain damage.
He is expected to be transferred to a rehab center later this week if there are no setbacks.
Doctors are trying to get him to the point where he can breathe on his own.
Kirchner was trying to put out a massive house fire in Reisterstown when he was hurt.
One person was killed in that fire.
