TOWSON, Md. - Officials with the Baltimore County Fire Department say a firefighter that fell through the floor while on the scene of a house fire in Towson on Monday morning was not injured.
Lt. Paul Massarelli of the Baltimore County Fire Rescue Academy said the female firefighter fell into the basement of a home on the 7000 block of Bellona Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. He said she was able to exit through a basement door.
Units were dispatched at about 8:18 a.m. Officials say the fire was under control about an hour later.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Officials say about 20 pieces of apparatus and 60 personnel worked the scene.
Officials say the firefighter that feel through the floor was from the Hillendale Fire Station.
