PERRY HALL, Md. - A 30-year-old Edgewood woman was killed Wednesday after police say she crossed the double yellow line on Belair Road and hit another car head-on.
The crash happened at around 4 p.m. right near Gunpowder State Park.
Police say Amy Marie Theiss was traveling southbound on Route 1 in her Honda Accord when she crossed the double-yellow line and sideswiped a northbound Toyota 4Runner driven by a 33-year-old Jarrettsville woman. She then continued into the path of a Toyota Rav 4 driven by a 42-year-old woman from Nottingham. The two collided head-on.
The driver of the Rav 4 was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in serious condition.
Theiss was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they are still working to find out why Theiss crossed the double yellow line.
An investigation is ongoing.
