Ex-Md. candidate pleads guilty in voting case

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -
The state prosecutor says a former Maryland congressional candidate has pleaded guilty to voting in two states during the same general election.
State Prosecutor Emmet C. Davitt said Friday that 58-year-old Wendy Rosen pleaded guilty in Baltimore County Circuit Court to voting in Maryland while registered in Florida during the 2006 and 2010 general elections. Davitt says Rosen continued to vote in Maryland after switching her primary residence to a home in Florida in 2004.
Davitt says Rosen received a suspended sentence, five years probation, 500 hours of community service and fined $5,000.
Prosecutors say Rosen switched her primary residence to Maryland in 2011 before filing to run for Congress in the 1st District. She dropped out in September when Florida officials announced an investigation into voting irregularities.
