BALDWIN, Md. - William Spencer, a 62-year-old Baltimore County man died in a house fire early Thursday morning.
Just after midnight, firefighters from Baltimore and Harford Counties got a call for a fire on Sweet Air Road in Baldwin.
The home was engulfed in flames and because there are no hydrants in the area, water had to be shuttled in from a nearby water source.
At one point crews were forced to evacuate the home.
After nearly two-and-a-half hours, most of the fire had been contained. Crews searched the home and found the William Spencer inside. 80 fire personnel and 20 fire units were on the scene.
Two firefighters were also hurt. One was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center. The other went to Bayview Burn Center.
Investigators are now working to figure out what caused the fire.
